Substitute Teacher and Nurse Training and Preparation
Individuals with 4-year college degrees who are recommended by their county school systems' administration are provided the training necessary to complete the requirements of the short term substitute permit. The training includes, but is not limited to, classroom management, state and local policies, instructional goals and objectives, an overview of school law to include reporting requirements for suspected child abuse and relevant school nursing information. Training offered at County request.
Graduate Credit Courses Educators need the opportunity to participate in educational opportunities that provide graduate credit tailored to their needs at an affordable rate. With the cooperation of credit granting graduate colleges and universities, RESA-6 is able to offer professional development opportunities that also provide credit needed for renewal of certification or for pay increases. Most Graduate Credit is specific to counties as requested.
