Caryn Puskarich, Regional Wellness Specialist(RWS)
The Regional Wellness Specialist in RESA 6 will assist county school districts in establishing a cooperative wellness program to provide schools, families and communities with resources to make healthy and informed decisions that can prepare students for academic success.
The WV Wellness Network is a collaborative program under the direction of the WVDE, Office of School and Community Support, WV Department of Health and Human Resources and RESA.
Current Wellness Initiatives include but are not limited to:
- Bullying Prevention Programs
- Increasing Physical Activity Opportunities
- Educating Counties/Schools on Oral-health Exam Requirements
- Educating Counties/Schools on Well-Child Exam Requirements
- Provide resources and support to Counties/Schools for Children with Type 1 Diabetes
